BEDELL CELLARS 07 APR 2022

We were long overdue to visit an old friend Bedell Cellars in Cutchogue, Long Island, NY , as we continue to make progress visiting all the wineries along the #NorthForkWineTrail .   Our last visit was when we were shopping for a wedding venue almost ten years ago.   Today we focused on Bedell Cellars but will soon visit their sister winery Corry Creek Tap Room in Southold Long Island, NY .   We were reacquainted with Bedell Cellars by Kathy F. , Bedell’s Brand Ambassador, when she started to follow LIWINEDAD on Instagram . Bedell Cellars is a sustainable wine producer and member of LISW , producing some fine wines, including wines served at the 2013 Presidential inauguration .      The greeting was warm and friendly as we entered the tasting room, that is bright and cheery.   We were presented with two menus, one for Wine Tasting flights (Figure 1) and one for Food (Figure 2).   While the food selection looks excellent to pair with Bedell’s wine, we passed on the food as we

EXPEDITION LUNCH AND WINE TASTING 07 APR 2022

The Expedition is the first of the 2022 wine season and focused on lunch at a new (to us) and a tasting at Bedell Cellars .   This time we decided to try out Sound Bistro (Figure 1) as we had driven past it many times before while on the #NorthForkWineTrail and commented on how we should stop each time.   The stop was well worth it as we enjoyed a well-prepared, leisurely-paced meal for almost 1 ½ hour.   The lunch is well worth a full posting and will follow shortly.   We stopped by   Bedell Cellars many years ago (>10), so we were long overdue for a revisit.   Given how far back in the past we had been there, this was effectively a first-time visit.   We worked our way through an extended tasting of seven different wines (Figure 2), each very unique and tasty.   Some wines were outstanding, requiring a revisit and a bottle to take home.   A full write-up will follow shortly as this winery is now on our routine revisit list, and we will need to bring along the family and frien

Many expeditions too little writing

Updates have been long overdue as we have been on the road the last four out of 6 weeks.  Since the last posting, there have been four expeditions spanning Long Island NY, Denver CO, Tampa/Anna Marie Island FL, Raleigh NC, and Oceanside CA.  Of course, there is still one more expedition this week for a pick-up and tasting.  First up in early April was a trip to Sound Bistro (first visit) and a full tasting at Bedell Cellars .   Both were outstanding and will be followed up with a detailed posting.   Next was a family affair attending a friend’s daughter’s wedding on the beach on Anna Maria Island just west of Tampa, FL , and what a wedding it was.   From there, it was on to Fuquay-Varina , NC, to visit our Grandson Jack.   Next up was a mixed business/pleasure trip.   My first stop was Denver , CO, at the WSTS conference, where I was back on stage for the first time after three years, giving a presentation on the history of the need and use of precision timing in the Financial
