Harleys American Grille 20 FEB 2021
First, the disclaimer, I enjoyed the food and company last Saturday so much I forgot to take pictures, so I am borrowing one from the restaurant’s website. On my next visit, I promise to post more pictures. This was my first visit to Harleys American Grille but far from my last visit here. We arrived for a 6:00 PM seating (a group of four), and the place was busy but light in keeping with all the COVID-19 rules. The greeting was warm and the team friendly and properly masked as well as the dining room has all the requisite partitions between properly space tables. The menu was a classic American grill with all the favorites well represented. I opened with the Spicy (not too hot) tuna nachos with crisp wonton chips and a generous helping of good tuna well complimented with guacamole, soy ginger finished with a creamy jalapeno drizzle.
My entree choice was the USDA prime 21-day dry-aged bone-in 20 oz Kansas strip as this is an American grille. I ordered it black and blue, and the team knew what that was, and it arrived tableside with a cool center and light char on the outside, just the way I like it. Having Fit black and blue truly highlighted the dry-aged prime steak. I paired the steak with Mushrooms and creamed spinach sides which were generous servings that we shared. One of my friends had the Filet Mignon and cooked to perfection. The beef short ribs off the bone were also outstanding, with more than enough for lunch the next day. Just a couple of minor suggestions the black and blue could have had just a bit more char on the outside for my tastes, and the addition of the wine list to the website would help me ponder the list in advance. Overall, this was a great first visit, and I am looking forward to many more.
